Goro is one of Mortal Kombat 's most iconic villains, but the character's use in the 2021 reboot was much worse than in the 1995 original movie. Shinnok appears in the 1997 film Mortal Kombat Annihilation, played by Reiner Schöne and depicted as the father of both Shao Kahn and Raiden. He is not identified by name onscreen until the film's conclusion. The character appeared in the 2021 animated film Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms and was voiced by Robin Atkin Downes.
Before you ask, this is the 1995 Paul Anderson Mortal Kombat, not the new one. With the imminent release of Simon McQuoid's reboot, I think it's worth looking at the original and go over why the '95 version failed as a suitable video game adaptation. Mortal Kombat (1995) Not every video game movie can say they had a great adaptation, but i gotta say this one did. between the direction, the choreography, and the acting, it was 100% solid. in fact, my gold star would be to Shang Tsung. He literally WAS shang tsung from the video game. totally believable.
